The Program

Haydn: Sonata in E minor, Hob. XVI:34

Michael Brown: Surfaces (World premiere)

Haydn: Sonata in C major, Hob. XVI:48

Schumann: Faschingsschwank aus Wien

Roman Rabinovich, a child prodigy who debuted with the Israel Philharmonic at age 10 under Zubin Mehta, continues his rise as an international piano sensation. In between two Haydn sonatas of very different character, Rabinovich premieres New Yorker Michael Brown’s darkly alluring 2015 work Surfaces and concludes with Schumann’s playful “Carnival Scenes from Vienna.” Join the artist for coffee and conversation following the performance.
