Selections from Giulio Cesare in Egitto

Suite in G major from Water Music

Emmanuelle Haïm and Le Concert d’Astrée’s 2013 Alice Tully Hall performance was named one of the best of the year by the New York Times. The acclaimed period-instrument ensemble returns with arias from Handel’s Italian masterpiece Giulio Cesare in Egitto, featuring soprano Natalie Dessay fresh from her star turn as Cleopatra at the Met. She is joined by countertenor Christophe Dumaux in this fierce love story of power, guile, and ever-demanding vocal writing.

“The band played cleanly, crisply and vigorously: a delight.” —New York Times on Le Concert d’Astrée
